1. About Trade with Catalyst
Trade with Catalyst is a financial technology, quantitative modeling, and real-time market data visualization platform built to empower retail and prop traders across Indian equity and derivative markets.
The platform operates under the technological governance and educational leadership of The Catalyst Group, founded by A.S. Pandit (Ex-IES, UPSC AIR 144, IIM Calcutta alumnus).
2. Regulatory Status (SEBI Disclaimers)
To establish absolute transparency with our users and market regulators, we provide the following classification:

- A SEBI-registered Research Analyst (RA)
- A Portfolio Management Service (PMS)
- A Stock Broker, Sub-Broker, or Trading Member
- A Depository Participant (DP)
- A Financial Technology & Quantitative Software Platform
- A Provider of Multi-Timeframe Algorithmic Scanners
- An Analytics Suite for Option Chain & PCR Visualisation
- An Educational Tool for Self-Directed Market Participants
- Part of The Catalyst Group Learning Conglomerate
3. Nature of Services Provided
Our platform provides the following computational tools:
- Market Data Visualisation: Real-time and historical price matrices, volume breakdowns, and sector distribution bars.
- Quantitative Signals: Algorithm-generated price action, volatility expansion, and momentum signals. These are mathematically triggered indicators, not personalised investment recommendations.
- Derivatives Analytics: Real-time Open Interest (OI) tracking, Put-Call Ratio (PCR) momentum, and delta/gamma distribution charts across NIFTY, BANKNIFTY, FINNIFTY, MIDCAP, and SENSEX.
- Educational Frameworks: Tutorials and research briefs explaining risk management, statistical edge, and disciplined capital allocation.
4. Market Data Sources & Broker API Ingestion
Trade with Catalyst ingests institutional tick feeds and orderbook quotes through authorized data feeds, including:
- Zerodha Kite Connect API: Authorized market data vendor infrastructure for live tick-by-tick streaming.
- Public Exchange Feeds: National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) public historical disclosures.
5. Conflicts of Interest Policy
To uphold the highest ethical standards, Trade with Catalyst maintains strict conflict-of-interest policies:
- Personal Positions: Members of our research and technology teams may hold personal trading positions in individual stocks, futures, or options contracts tracked by platform scanners.
- Subscription Revenue Model: Our revenue is derived purely from fixed software subscription fees. We generate zero fees based on whether a signal yields a profit or loss.
- No Broker Commissions: We do not accept payment for order flow (PFOF), broker commissions, or volume rebates from any brokerage firm.
- No Front-Running: All algorithmic scanner results are rendered concurrently and uniformly to all active subscribers with zero preferential front-running.
6. Statutory Market & Derivative Risk Disclosures
Trading in capital markets involves high financial exposure:
- You may experience the total loss of all funds deposited with your broker.
- Options trading incorporates additional non-linear risks, including rapid time decay (theta decay), implied volatility collapses, and extreme leverage sensitivity.
- SEBI Study Disclosure: According to a formal SEBI research report published in January 2023, 89% of individual traders in the equity F&O segment incurred net losses, incurring average losses that exceeded ₹1.1 lakh including transaction costs.
- Past backtested metrics, win rates, or hypothetical Sharpe ratios do not ensure or imply future trading success.
7. Technology & Algorithmic Disclosures
Users must understand the inherent limitations of quantitative systems:
- Network Connectivity: Our platform operates via public internet protocols. Disruptions in ISP routing, CDN caching, or DNS servers may temporarily impede dashboard accessibility.
- Algorithmic False Positives: Mathematical breakout models and momentum scanners are probabilistic in nature and frequently trigger false breakouts during choppy or consolidation sessions.
- Cloud Storage: We employ enterprise cloud vendors (Google Firebase, AWS, DigitalOcean) for resilient hosting and secure socket streaming.
